Our 2024 Big Apple Crunch was a success! Approximately 900 apples were crunched at the same time in our back field, celebrating local apples and our Farm to School initiative. Justin Robinson kindly donated his time (and drone!) for pictures and videos and we also made a short slideshow of staff pictures. See the links below.

Good afternoon,
This afternoon, at approximately 1:08 p.m., we instituted a shelter-in-place due to a student experiencing a medical emergency. The situation was handled promptly, and the student received the necessary care. The shelter-in-place was lifted at approximately 1:25 p.m.
We greatly appreciate the quick response from both students and staff, as well as their adherence to our safety procedures. Everyone did an excellent job.
Thank you,
BMC Administration

Get your outfits ready for tomorrow BMC! See the flyer for class colors to wear. See students and staff for BMC's second annual big apple crunch!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the PTSO Paint-n-Snack scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, 2024, has been postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We look forward to seeing you at our PTSO Halloween Read Aloud on October 24th!

The Big Apple Crunch takes place every year in the month of October. This is the second year BMC is participating in this state-wide event. All together on Friday morning our students will take a bite out of an apple grown in NYS to celebrate our apple harvest and to inspire us to eat local. This event is brought to our district by the Farm to School committee.

Here are the many ways to purchase this year's yearbook.

Come & Paint with us!!

It's more than a meal application. Even when school meals are free for all, it is still important to submit a household income form to ensure that we can continue to provide this benefit and also help the district receive state funding. It's quick and confidential. Please complete the form on-line here- https://forms.gle/Ay32RUgo1Y3P1zJX7 . You may also find the paper form on-line on our website or you can request a form be mailed by calling 518-529-7342 x 7600. Only one form per family is needed. It is important for EVERY family to fill out this form.

Open house at North Franklin Educational Center.

If you haven't already, please complete the Household Eligibility Form. You may complete the on-line form here-https://forms.gle/Ay32RUgo1Y3P1zJX7 . You may also find the paper form on-line on our website or you can request a form be mailed by calling 518-529-7342 x 7600. Only one form per family is needed. It is important for EVERY family to fill out this form because doing so helps bring much-needed additional money and services directly to our school! It also determines if your child will qualify for other benefits such as reduced fees for SAT and ACT tests, reduced college applications fees as well as other potential non-school related benefits such as summer EBT benefits.

Come & have some fall fun with the PTSO!!

Do you like to run? There will be a 5K Pumpkin Run & Munchkin Mile on Saturday, September 28th at the Malone Rec Park. For more information please see the flyer.

Attention: Please read this important message from Todd LaPage, Superintendent of Schools

Changes to Bus Routes - Please see the changes starting on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The story on our storywalk trail this week honors the memory of 23 years ago today. Our 9/11 story, 30,000 Stitches tells the story of the flag that was hung above the towers and was severely damaged. This flag travelled the country being repaired by communities facing their own tragedies before returning to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in NYC. This beautiful story will be on the trail until this Friday.

The 2024-2025 Open House will be on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for Grades 1-12.

Tax Bills - It is our understanding that some community members have not yet received their tax bills. These bills were mailed the last week of August. If you have not received your bill, you can call the Tax Collector at 518-529-7342 ext. 4203 to get a copy.
