Brushton- Moira Central School recognizes National School Bus Safety Week
School bus safety reminder:
While school bus safety is important year-round, National School Bus Safety Week, from October 21-25, 2024, is a good time to remind drivers of the importance of slowing down and being aware of school buses in their communities.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is urging all drivers to slow down and be aware of school buses in their communities. Although school buses are one of the safest modes of transportation, injuries and fatalities do occur outside of or near the buses. Most often, these tragedies occur because a motorist has failed to slow down and obey the bus’s stop sign, or to follow local traffic laws. Nationally, school bus passing is illegal and it is a deadly risk to bus riders and their caretakers. Drivers should always come to a complete stop when a school bus stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.

There will be a Trunk or Treat at BMC on Saturday, October 26th, sponsored by BMC FFA and Town of Moira Historical Association. Please see the flyer for more information.

Bridge Out-- We were notified this afternoon, that the bridge on the Gallop Road in North Bangor has been closed until further notice. Due to the closure, BMC Bus #132 will be running approximately 10-15 minutes earlier on the Gallop Road and 10 minutes later for its stops on on the Taylor Road and 11B. This will impact both the AM and PM runs.

Good afternoon,
This afternoon, at approximately 1:08 p.m., we instituted a shelter-in-place due to a student experiencing a medical emergency. The situation was handled promptly, and the student received the necessary care. The shelter-in-place was lifted at approximately 1:25 p.m.
We greatly appreciate the quick response from both students and staff, as well as their adherence to our safety procedures. Everyone did an excellent job.
Thank you,
BMC Administration

Get your outfits ready for tomorrow BMC! See the flyer for class colors to wear. See students and staff for BMC's second annual big apple crunch!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the PTSO Paint-n-Snack scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, 2024, has been postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We look forward to seeing you at our PTSO Halloween Read Aloud on October 24th!

The Big Apple Crunch takes place every year in the month of October. This is the second year BMC is participating in this state-wide event. All together on Friday morning our students will take a bite out of an apple grown in NYS to celebrate our apple harvest and to inspire us to eat local. This event is brought to our district by the Farm to School committee.

Here are the many ways to purchase this year's yearbook.
