Just some reminders as we start the 2023-2024 school year.
All students must enter at door 4. Schedules will be available outside of door 4 for all students to pick up, 7-12 before entering the building. Students must follow their new schedule, as things may have changed.
All am and pm BOCES/CTE/New Visions students must ride the bus this year. The am bus leaves school at 7:15 a.m. If you are driving to school, please arrive in enough time to be able to get on the bus as attendance will be taken. If you are riding the bus in you need to get on the elementary run to make the 7:15 a.m. bus at the school to Malone.

Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
We can not wait to see all of our students this Thursday! We want to provide our families with some helpful information so that the new year will start off smoothly:
School starts for PreK-12th grade students on Thursday, September 7th
All CTE and New Visions students need to ride the bus this year. The bus leaves school at 7:20 am.
Dismissal is at 1pm for September 7 & 8 for just the Elementary. High school Students will stay for a full day on both days.
Panther Hour (Cornell Cooperative Extension) is available beginning on September 7th for those families who have registered their student(s).
All bus passes need to be to the Gatekeeper by 9:30 a.m. each day.
Handbooks for Elementary will be sent home on the first day of school-one per family and all students need to sign.
Pre-K and Kindergarten Acquaintance Day is Wednesday, 9/6/23 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Please join us!
New Bus Scheduling and Routing Procedures
School Taxes - In person tax collection will begin on September 7th. Times are as follows: Thursdays from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
BMC Calendar - Our 2023-2024 Calendars are unable to be sent out at this time. Due to hours and staff shortages at the Post Office and the large volume of calendars that we send out, they will not be able to be delivered before the start of school. Please be checking your mail as they should be coming sometime next week.

Brushton-Moira Central is excited to announce the completion of our StoryWalk.
Starting at the trail by the new playground, walk with your family, reading pages as you move from post to post, to exercise and get literacy at the same time. Each week, from spring to fall, a new story will be published to the trail to keep things interesting. We hope to see you on our storywalk trail!
The trail was made possible by the Dollar General Literacy Grant which is funded from donations made at our local Dollar General. Thank you for continuing to support this program as you shop!

Battle of the Bands - October 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.
7th grade orientation is Tuesday 8/29 at 6 p.m. in the LGI room.
7-12th grade students will be able to pick up Chromebooks at our Back-2-School event tomorrow night as well. The Chromebook Policy needs to be signed and a decision made on purchasing insurance for the Chromebook or not using this link.

You MUST bring your concussion form the first day of practice to your coach. Failure to do so will mean you DON'T get to play. Paperwork MUST be completed in the nurse's office in order to participate!
Panther cards are going to be SOLD again this year by the M/V Soccer teams. Cards will be distributed on Tuesday, August 29th at 11 AM in the MIddle School Gym.
So you can plan accordingly....HOMECOMING is Saturday, September 23rd.

Reminder to any athlete to please join the invite to the athletic google classroom that you would have received before school was released. This is where all updates and information for athletics are shared. Once the athlete has joined, parents can then add themselves if they choose.

We are adding an advisory period for 7-12 students either before or after lunch. Those classes are still being added and students will receive a new schedule the first day of school. As soon as schedules are active on school tool, they will be able to see them there as well.
7-12 schedules will go in the mail on Monday, August 21st. Counselors will be available Aug 28-30th for new enrollments and changes. Please call and set up an appointment. Varsity sports starts on Monday, August 21, with modified starting the following week. We are looking forward to having some of our panthers back in the building.
August regents are this week Wed and Thursday. Morning regents will start at 8:30 am and afternoon regents at 12:30 pm. Students and parents were contacted if their child needed to retake a regents exam from June. All regents exams will be in the LGI room.

Earth Science Regents can not be retaken if you have not done the Lab performance test this week. It must be done each time the exam is administered.
