We want to thank you for all your support to our school community. With the overwhelming support for our recent budget vote, I am honored and deeply privileged to be serving as Superintendent for the Brushton-Moira Central School District. I could not work in a better school or community.
This upcoming school year, both State and Federal funds will be utilized for student services in academic, social, emotional and mental health support. We are aware of the challenges ahead, and we are committed to providing additional support for our families and students as we all transition back to a traditional schedule. We have added a Community Outreach Coordinator (Tracie Benware) to our staff and we have many exciting things planned for this summer and upcoming school year. We will be offering summer programming as well as after school enrichment activities this summer and into next school year.
We started construction on our new state of the art playground, walking path, outside eating and learning areas. We are adding a disc golf course to this area for students and the community to enjoy when school is not in session.
In light of recent events in our country, I wanted to share with you a few of our school's security measures. We have an armed School Patrol Officer on our premises daily during the school year. They conduct daily security checks of the building. A “gatekeeper area” with locked entrance into the school and only one point of entry. We have a camera system which is linked live to our 911 center. Our alarm system is linked directly to law enforcement and emergency agencies. We conduct multiple safety drills throughout the school year with staff and students. These are just a few of the measures we have in place.
We thank you for your continuing support. We have many new and exciting things happening this summer and school year.
With great pride,
Todd M. LaPage
Superintendent of Schools
